We scoured the country for rare clones of Grenache that could help us create a wine of intense perfume and the summery brightness of fresh berries. We found not one, but two beautiful clones hidden away in a niche corner of our great Australian wine industry, and hey – Locura!!
Carefully manicured young vines delivered ripe clusters of exceptional finesse to whole berry fermentation with native yeasts over the course of a month, giving us the opportunity to show off Grenache’s aromatic intensity. Aged 6 months in clay amphora, then bottled unfined and unfiltered, this delicious wine presents a bolder face of rose, a style we like to call “magenta”.
