2021 Electric Magnolia
Arinto
Having enjoyed another magical season of fresh breeze and warm soil in our tech-connected eco-conscious, bee-friendly vineyard, the 2021 Electric Magnolia Arinto 3.0 was ready for harvest. Crafted from two unique clones, these hand-harvested lovelies were picked extra cool in the early morning and gently pressed on ice over a long period of time, then sent to tank for their chilly extended fermentation. In her almost Antarctic world, she dropped less than one Brix per day, cold settled on lees and left alone to preserve all her delicious electrifying texture and nuance. This vegan-friendly wine is driven to please on a warm, sunny day where it promises to energise and stimulate the palate. Unfined, unfiltered, and unbelievably uplifting.
From the first planting of Arinto in Victoria, Australia.
94 points - GW:
"A Portuguese grape that doesn’t mind a bit of heat, and still stays fresh. Likely a taste of things to come.
Distinctly saline with some chamomile perfume, crushed lemon pulp lends tang and subtle bitterness, some umami miso, nori and chicken flavour, fine chalk dust texture, preserved lemon, and heaps of crushed lemon and grapefruit on a tangy finish of good length. Very different, lots of texture, savoury, yet refreshing."
Please note: With the generosity of time, our Arintos delightfully now possess a few ‘wine diamonds’ at the bottom - aka tartrate crystals. These are perfectly natural and considered in Europe as a mark of both a wine’s quality - long-ripening fruit, low-intervention winemaking - and a sign that the wine has reached its peak to drink. We suggest you decant, or pour the last glass slowly to leave a few drops with the diamonds gathered at the bottom.
