Daniel sprung forth on to this mortal realm from (yes we know it is beautiful..) Sydney, Australia and met his better half at the University of California, Davis. He is the founder and ass-kicker of Eartrumpet Vineyard Consulting and carries on a lot about soils, grapevine genomics, vineyard ecosystems and the band Queen. Michelle thinks he has a impressive knack for growing the best grapes, (actually she demands it of him) and he swings a pretty good cellar hose around as well. His fancier and more socially impressive merits are that he has too many degrees, works in numerous countries from Mexico to Russia and many points in between, and likes bonsai.
ABOUT US
Husband and Wife Team
Founded in 2008 by one plant nerd and one maker of wine, Daniel Fischl and Michelle Edwards, Linnaea Vineyards have created a growing body of wine works from around the world. These wines harken from the wiles of Napa Valley California to Bellisimo Barolo in Piemonte to the ancient red soils of Heathcote, Australia and we will never cease looking for new pockets of grape goodness to wear the Linnaea Vineyards label.
Business partners and partners in life, we named our wine child after our actual first born child, so we have a lot of pressure on us to make, as she puts it, “juice that tastes good.”

Michelle is a former Yank who herself has a few Uni degrees, and has now proudly made these golden soils her own. A classic tale of wine romance unfurled when, backpacking through Italy, all young and sprightly-like, she happened upon a culture of people living amongst the vineyards, living life in the present, working hard and playing hard. She had a eureka moment and made it her mission to seek out a career all-things wine whilst simultaneously giving her mother a nervous breakdown. After studying Enology/Viticulture and working harvests in California, Washington State, Australia and Italy Linnaea Vineyards evolved and was brought to the great shores of this grand country. Michelle likes to dance and wine and dine especially with irreverent people who share her love of unapologetic, unabashed laughter and good times (and a detest of clowns).
